Just came back from Mandai Crematorium. 4th aunt passed away last tuesday due to cancer. It was actually a relapse and metastasis occurred. As everybody knows, when a relapse happens, it's very difficult to be controlled le. So somehow or rather, everybody was prepared for it.. It was just so sad to see the last few moments of her life struggling with pain.

First time going to mandai crematorium, very new place, and it's so much difference from the guang ming shan at Bishan. This is erm.. so modern and high-class. All the preparation for the funeral cost $7k. It's indeed not cheap to die these days.. not to mention, this is a very simple one. With not much rituals and other procedures.

Over this funeral, I had quite a bit of arguement with my mum.. She insists me going down for the wake almost everyday, and be there early. This reminds me of the book I read before.. Tuesday with Morrie. It mentioned about Morrie, who was terminally ill.. with 3 months left.. A lot of ppl wanted to see him.. But he refused to meet them. Why? His reason being, I've been alive for all these while, and non of them came to visit me for the past few years.. So why come see a dying man now? It's really true isn't it,.. If you're close to the person, you would visit him/her frequently, or at least occasionally.. but Why only show your concern by going for the wake so often? I understand that going for the wake is to pay respect for the deceased and that's the least we can do.. to the extend, everyday?

Well.. my point is.. If we are concern with the people around us, we should try to pay more attention and more care while they're alive.. What's the point of doing all these when we are dead lying in the coffin? Important thing is that we treat all that matters to us well and care for them while we still can.. Don't wait till then.... Then come regret...
