There are always funny ppl ard, which I can't seem to understand.. or is it me that's weird??

What would u think when it's written as COMPULSORY to go.. must be thinking.. orh.. must go if no appropriate reasons. but the person who suggested that it must be COMPULSORY, cannot make it .. citing "Other Committments" as a reason. So is it really that COMPULSORY? or is it that I can't comprehend English that well, and miss out part of the meaning in the word?
