1 down, 4 more to go.. A bit unhappy about the first paper, cos some qn were spot on, but I couldn't absorb at that point of time. Marks just " bai bai fei zhou le" Arhz.. There goes one grade. 2 more xiong one coming up. Molecular Genetics and Intro to marketing. Memory SUPER intensive. just memorise whatever I can, squeezing into the puny brain of mine.
Side track a bit.. Everyone knows that earth is getting hot.. Idea on Hydrogen-powered car are the in-coming vehicles that's supposed to replace the petrol-powered car that we are know. However, where do they get the Hydrogen from ? Thin air? Water ? Nah.. at the current level, the way that they have been getting Hydrogen, comes from burning of hydrocarbons. Which is fossil fuel, which gives out tons of carbon dioxide. Irony isn't it. You are not contributing directly to the CO2 concentration, but you are paying more for it, so that others can help you burn the Carbon instead. Scientist are exploring new methods of obtaining Hydrogen, and the most common source is water. New methods have been discovered, but it's too expensive at the moment, not practical. Think twice on whether you are really saving the Earth when a new technology comes up. The source behind it may be detrimental as well.
Do you know that out of 100% of petrol, only 0.7% is used to ferry you? 60% is to carry the weight of the car, which is at least 20-30 times more than you. 20% for the the brakes and overcoming the frictional force the wheels will encounter and some for the lubricating of the engines and ball bearings. In general, a sportscar can travel 8-11km/litre, a fuel efficient car can travel at most 20km/litre at the moment. So how to further increase the mileage that one litre of petrol can offer ? lighten the car.. Yes.. reduce the weight that makes the car, which is consuming the most energy. Carbon fibre is the new material, set to take over aluminium for those who can afford it. it's expensive, but it will amazingly increase the mileage that you can travel on a litre to 100km/litre. That's at least a 5 fold increase. Of cos, you will need the money first.. Sigh It's tough to go green..
Got all these info while watching Green Earth in the morning. Interesting show..
