Whee... My team won the SMRT challenge for School category 2007.. Wahaha... $2000 to be split between the 4 of us, which makes a decent sum of $500 each. 4 members are Meng Siong, Kenneth, Tze Hin and me... Quite a good amount, for the work that we've put in, and seriously, this is the first time that I've ever won such a race/challenge. The feeling is DArn Good. haha... walking up the stage to receive the Big pay cheque.. Wohoo..
It started off at 9.30am, at Ngee Ann city, and we were supposed to solve some 8 clues and proceed to each individual check points to complete the task. Along the way, We are to earn some merit points by being courteous and giving way to other passengers. The 8 places were still rather easy to solve, except for 2 of it, which took us some time. A few places were quite out of the way, that is the MRT service depot and SMRT sports and recreation club and the Geylang East Home for the aged. Other than these 3, the rest are generally held at the MRT stations, which make it much easier. I think we are the only team that were on our heels most of the time. We ran from Tanah Merah to Newwater plant, Bishan to the sports club, Aljunied to the home of the elderly. Really chiong to make it possible.
In the end, We took 4hrs 23mins to complete the whole race ranking 7th for raw timing. However, we got 23/24 for the merit points, each merit points is worth 5 mins. So that caused our total timing to be slashed by 1hr 55min. Which makes it 2hr 28min. And the second team's timing was 3hr 15min. Wahahaha.. OWNING. This was actually experience picked up by meng and kenneth last year when they took part. They realised the need to chiong for merit points, and it did pay off. BIG TIME. Whee... really worth it.. Though won't say that the challenge was exactly that challenging, but as long as I got the $500.. That's all it matters.. muhahaa.. :p
Was interviewed by 88.3FM after the prize presentation and made a live Broadcast over the air.. lol.. a short 1-2 min interview. In-prompt to questions, luckily I could still speak a little basic chinese...

now, I'm damn tired.. But its definitely worth it.. After this experience, definitely will try to take part in more of such event. Where else got such good prizes to be won. Kudos to Kenneth for asking me to be part of the team this time round. hehex...
