Department Outing

Yesterday had a department Outing to the Cinema to catch Pirates of the Caribbean , At World's End. Everything was paid for by the department. Time-off was given to everybody, but it isn't good for me because time-off means no pay for me, since I'm paid hourly. Sadzz... Everybody started to head down to VIVO at around 3.30pm to get ready for the show that begins at 4.30pm. Don't know why everybody was in such a KIASU mood. rushing to get the tickets, the pop-corn / drinks that came with it and even getting into the cinema. People were Chionging into the small theatre trying to get the best seats available, but I don't think it made that much of a difference, considering the small size theatre. Everybody is just so close to the screen.. lolx.

It was a very long show at 168mins, including all the advertisement and preludes to other shows, its a good 3 hrs. The show started off slowly, with " Chow yun fatt " saying welcome to Singapore. BUT till now I still can't get the link of why they chose to use Singapore.? Singapore paid them to advertise it in the global screen arh? haha... watever the case is, the story went twist and turns and with the usual fightings between the pirates and the army. Would say the starting part was a bit dull, but it did pick up the pace towards the middle of the show. This part 3, At Word's End is a major built up on the first 2 sequel. Without watching the first 2, i think would be quite lost, as in how some of the characters are linked or in such situation. Needed to take some time to recall what has happened during the first 2 for some parts to link it to why jack sparrow was banished. The colossol was a total ????? for me. All the pirates went through such trouble and hesistation to release her, but in the end, she didn't do much, only created a thunderstorm and the whrilpool which seems redundant. Would say that the overall effects was good, with the usual humour still present and the storyline was good. Quite a few unexpected plots were used. That makes it intersting, It ended with the pirates winning once again, and the ckeeky and witty Jack sparrow losing the black pearl , but stole the important map of the ocean. Off he went in his small sampan and sail, looking for the fountain of eternal life. A possible part 4 ?

After the show had to rush down for tuition. And its the first time that i was late. And to make thigns worst, the mother of the kid was there too. She came from korean to spend 2 weeks with her son, and the first time she sees me i'm late. CRAP. was in a mad rush of time, didn't even do a proper greeting or self introduction, straight away kick start the tuition. Felt bad after I left the place. Should have at least taken a bit of time to do some formal introduction as a form of courtesy. Kinda rude I would say... NVm about that.. since what done is done, the important should be I've taught his son well, Hong should speak up for me .... I hope.. :P
